Foreign Companies Amount to 55% of Iteca Exhibitors, One Third of Them Plan to Start Business in Kazakhstan

Iteca exhibitions and conferences are distinguished by the topmost international level of organisation making them one of the leading events in the respective economy sector
Iteca LLP is a partner of ITE Group Plc International Exhibition Company in Kazakhstan and Central Asia countries.

ITE Group Plc is an amalgamation of companies and agencies dealing in organising trade exhibitions and conferences functioning all over the world, with its headquarters in London. The company has been annually holding about 150 events in 17 world countries. ITE Group Plc maiden project in Kazakhstan was KIOGE 1993 – Kazakhstan International Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference. The successful implementation of the oil and gas forum provided for incorporation of Iteca in 1995.

Currently, Iteca offices operate in Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, and Bishkek; also, a representative office was opened in Ulan-Bator. Iteca is well-known in the Central Asian Region as the leading organiser of trade show events. Exhibition and conference topics cover all sectors of economy.

The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI, www.ufinet.org) awarded UFI Approved Event signs to eight Iteca exhibitions: KIOGE (Oil and Gas), KazBuild (Construction), MiningWorld Central Asia (Mining Equipment, Mining and Concentration of Ores and Minerals), WorldFood Kazakhstan (Food Industry), AstanaBuild (Construction), KITEL (Telecommunications and Computer Technologies), KITF (Tourism and Travel), and KIHE (Public Health Care).

UFI Approved Event Sign attests to a high level of organisation of events, their business development and industry shaping facilitation, and also confirms the statistics veracity. UFI Association performs certification based on annual exhibition events audit outturns. ITE/Iteca Kazakhstan exhibition events audit was carried out by RussCom IT Systems, an audit company of Russia. Annually, Iteca organises about forty international exhibitions and conferences in Kazakhstan (Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Aktau, and Karaganda), Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek), and Mongolia (Ulan-Bator). In 2006, Iteca held thirty-two international exhibitions and four conferences, three exhibitions in Kyrgyzstan, and one exhibition in Mongolia. Total participants in the events amounted to 5,337 companies of 62 countries of the world. 55% of Iteca exhibitors are foreign companies, one-third of them intending to launch business in Kazakhstan. In terms of the quantity of exhibitors, countries can be distinguished as follows: Kazakhstan (1,840 companies, 45.1%), Russia (805 companies, 19.7%), Germany (237 companies, 5.8%), and Turkey (192 companies, 4.7%).

The number of exhibitions with dominating participation of Kazakhstan companies is growing. For instance, more than a half of participants in KazBuild Spring’06, AtyrauBuild’06 and KITEL’06 exhibitions represented Kazakhstan market. It should be noted that, as compared with the previous year, the number of Kazakhstan exponents at such major Central Asia events as KIOGE’06 and KazBuild’06 also increased.

A considerable presence of foreign exhibitors was observed at the following events: MiningWorld CA’06 & Kazcomak’06 (Mining and Machine Building) – 77% foreign companies as regards the total number of exhibitors; KITF’06 (Tourism and Travel) – 76% foreign exhibitors, KIHE’06 (Health Protection) – 62% foreign exhibitors, etc.

In 2006, Iteca held five new exhibitions in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, these being KazBuild Spring (Construction Industry), KazRealty (Real Estate), BITF (Tourism and Travel), Mangystau Oil & Gas (Oil and Gas), and AgriHort Astana (Agriculture).

The relevance of holding KazBuild Construction Exhibition in spring and autumn is the reflection of the rapid development of Kazakhstan construction market.

An additional argument in favour of holding spring and autumn exhibitions was the characteristic seasonality of sales in construction industry. Thus, the expositions of KazBuild Spring and KazRealty held for the first time ever filled to capacity four pavilions and the adjacent outdoor area at the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty. The agricultural exhibition in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, was held simultaneously with InterFood Astana Food Industry Exhibition and won a high acclaim from industry specialists. Bishkek BITF fair opened up tourist potential of Kyrgyzstan and is now included on the list of events held under the auspices of the World Tourist Organisation (UNWTO). Mangystau Oil & Gas Exhibition attracted industry specialists’ attention and won high acclaim. The event is held in Atyrau which is the sea port and an oil and gas regional centre of Kazakhstan and consequently takes the place of one of the most promising projects in Iteca oil and gas events portfolio.

In 2007, Iteca has plans to holding another two new construction-specific exhibitions in Kazakhstan – MangystauBuild and KaragandaBuild in Aktau and Karaganda respectively.

Iteca organised and has been successfully developing a number of Kazakhstan and Central Asian international exhibitions and conferences: Oil and Gas (KIOGE, Atyrau Oil&Gas); Mining Equipment, Mining and Concentration of Ores and Minerals/Quarrying, Hoist and Transport Equipment (MiningWorld Central Asia & Kazcomak); Construction and Interiors, Heating, Windows, Doors and Façades (KazBuild, KazBuild Spring, AstanaBuild, AtyrauBuild, MangystauBuild, and KaragandaBuild); Telecommunications and Computer Technologies (KITEL, AstanaKitel); Agriculture and Food Industry (WorldFood Kazakhstan, InterFood Astana, and AgriCA); Tourism and Travel (KITF, AstanaLeisure) an a lot more.

In the Kyrgyz Republic, Iteca has been developing three trends of industry and trade exhibitions: Construction (BishkekBuild), Tourism (BITF), and Telecommunications (Bishkek Telecom) exhibitions. In Mongolia, Mongolia Infrastructure Exhibition is held comprising expositions on Mining and Metallurgy, Health Protection, and Construction topics.

Iteca exhibitions and conferences are distinguished by the topmost international level of organisation making them one of the leading events in the respective economy sector. The events are held with official support of Governments, industry-specific ministries and comities, regional and city administrations of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia as well as of industry-branch associations.
